  • rrobeson, I think you could make the case that it is just an incentive to buy a domestic product. I don't think of it as Nationalism, nobody is trying to put the foreign companies out of business. Just give a much needed boost to a struggling segment of the US economy.

  • I'm curious, if this was supposed to benefit the US economy, why weren't the rebates limited only to purchases from US auto manufacturers. I'm sure Ford, GM and Chrysler could have used the extra business. After all, don't we own at least part of them (except for Ford).
